About Dr Alexander Incani
Dr Incani is an interventional cardiologist. Dr Incani graduated with first class honours from The University of Melbourne and was dux of internal medicine in 2003. Dr Incani has a special interest in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), complex structural heart intervention and high-risk coronary stenting, including the use of mechanical support devices. Dr Incani commenced interventional training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, working with the team who were the first to perform MitraClip (mitral valve repair) in Australia. Dr Incani then continued coronary and structural interventional training at The Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane, before finishing in Vancouver, Canada. Dr Incani has co-pioneered the first and most successful private transcatheter heart valve program in Queensland. Dr Incani has been the recipient of numerous awards including a National Heart Foundation Research Scholarship. Dr Incani is a senior lecturer at The University of Queensland and has co-authored the Chest Pain Guidelines for general practitioners. Dr Incani has performed original research in intracoronary physiology and imaging and was instrumental in bringing iFR to Australia. Dr Incani continues to contribute to the next generation of interventionalists by overseeing the training of other cardiologists.
