My Sydney Surgeon is a private group of medical practitioners in Sydney specialising in colorectal and general surgery service led by Specialist Dr Penelope De Lacavalerie. My Sydney Surgeon has 8 locations across the region in Northern Beaches, North Shore, Inner West Sydney, and Eastern Sydney. The Northern Beaches clinic is located in Northern Beaches Hospital.
Dr De Lacavalerie completed her medical degree at the Central University of Venezuela, Venezuela in 2001. She later completed her initial surgical training in London and became an Intercollegiate Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, UK. She then moved to Australia and completed her specialist general surgical training at Bankstown Hospital in Sydney. She became a Fellow in General Surgery of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012. She is also a Member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ).
My Sydney Surgeon provides services for the management of various anorectal and pelvic floor conditions, such as rectal prolapse, anal fissure, anal fistula, haemorrhoids, and functional disorders like obstructive defecation and faecal incontinence. The team also have special interests in general and acute surgical conditions, from hernia operations to the treatment of gallstones. Procedures provided include robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery, transrectal ultrasound, anal manometry and pudendal nerve latency assessments, as well as endoscopic interventions like gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
