Junger studierte Humanmedizin an der Universität Wien. Nach seinem Studium sammelte er erste berufliche Erfahrungen im Gesundheitsministerium in Wien, bevor er seine Ausbildung zum Facharzt für Chirurgie an den Landeskrankenanstalten Salzburg absolvierte. Im Jahr 1995 erlangte er den Facharzttitel für Chirurgie und im Jahr 2008 den Facharzttitel für Viszeralchirurgie. Dr. med. Junger ist Mitglied in mehreren Fachgesellschaften und nimmt regelmäßig an Fortbildungen teil, um seinen Patienten die bestmögliche medizinische Versorgung zu gewährleisten.
