About

Dr Vivien Sabel is a Consultant Psychotherapist at Eleos Clinic with extensive experience working with young people and families. Her special interest is in parent-infant mental health and attachment issues, and she has written extensively on the importance of early development. She has worked in the field of mental health and disability for over 30 years and so is extremely experienced.

She works with both adults and children to help address relational dynamics within the family unit in order to improve familial mental health. Additionally, she works with parents during and post-pregnancy.

Vivien has a particular interest in the consideration of language in psychotherapy, in particular the language of the body, and she prides herself on her awareness of language in both a verbal and general sense. She recognises how much value there is in being mindful of the body (of self and other) in therapy.

Dr Sabel is an expert in her field and has published a book called 'The Blossom Method- The Revolutionary Way To Communicate With Your Baby From Birth' She has also written a chapter for Professor Rosina McAlpine's (University of Sydney) latest book; 'Inspired Children: How The Leading Minds Of Today Raise Their Kids'.

Vivien's work on attachment and connection using The Blossom Method in clinical and everyday settings is taught in the UK and internationally, making her a prominent presence in the early years field.

She offers both remote and telephone therapy and is fluent in British Sign language, having been raised by a deaf mother and hearing father.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”

— Dr Vivien Sabel
