Dr Virginia Lambert is a Bariatric and Upper GI Surgeon. She trained across multiple states in Australia and attained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2021. With a strong foundation in hepatobiliary and upper GI surgery, Virginia completed further training in bariatric (weight loss) surgery before starting private practice in 2023.
Virginia is a staunch advocate for her patients, understanding that weight loss is not just about what operation you perform. Her patients’ lives and priorities are at the heart of her care.
She performs advanced laparoscopic procedures, including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, surgery for reflux (including hiatus hernia repair), cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal), and revision weight loss surgery. She is trained in diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy.
Virginia works closely with a range of other specialists in the work-up and management of more complex cases and, in addition to her private caseload, provides services in emergency and upper GI surgery at Lyell McEwin Hospital.
