He completed his medical degree at the Government Medical College, India in 1998 followed by his postgraduate training in general (internal) medicine at M S Ramaiah Medical College, India in 2005. Dr Nair also holds a European Diploma in Critical Care Medicine and an Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine. He has undertaken Postdoctoral Fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, and holds an MBA in Hospital Management from Bharathiar University, India.
Dr Nair began his career as a lecturer at St John's Medical College, Bangalore Emergency Medicine Department, later assuming roles as a consultant physician at St Thomas Hospital, Chethipuzha, and Consultant Physician and Intensivist at Baptist Hospital, Bangalore. He held the position of Head of the Critical Care Department at Lourdes Hospital where he oversaw the Medical Intensive Care unit. From 2013 to 2023, Dr Nair practiced at Zulekha Hospital Dubai before joining Medcare Hospital Dubai & Sharjah.
Dr Nair has specialist expertise in general medicine, diabetes management, hypertension, thyroid disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, dyslipidaemia, metabolic disorders, obesity, anaemia, and vitamin deficiencies. He employs both invasive and non-invasive ventilation, along with BiPAP, in treating respiratory tract infections and asthma. He also has expertise in advanced haemodynamic monitoring, central line and arterial pressure monitoring, and bedside cardiac output monitoring, as well as the medical management of intensive care patients and ventilator care in inpatient settings.
Dr Nair also holds professional memberships with the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM), the Indian Medical Association (IMA), the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), the Society for Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), and the Association of Kerala Medical and Dental Graduates (AKMG).
