Dr. Tara Shammas is a Doctor of Chiropractic at Diversified Integrated Sports Clinic (DISC) in Abu Dhabi. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2021, where she also received the Academic Excellence Award.
Following her graduation, Dr. Shammas completed both a preceptorship and a postdoctoral fellowship at the AMIT Clinic under Dr. Craig Buhler. During this time, she earned certification in the A.M.I.T.® (Advanced Muscle Integration Technique) method.
Dr. Shammas provides customised treatment plans by integrating a wide range of therapeutic techniques including chiropractic adjustments, muscle testing, trigger point therapy, fascial therapy, acupressure, and reflexology. She is also experienced in the Graston Technique, dry cupping, kinesiotaping, and the Webster Technique, which she uses to support prenatal chiropractic care.
In her clinical work, Dr. Shammas treats a variety of musculoskeletal conditions such as neck, mid-back, and lower back pain, frozen shoulder, headaches and TMJ (jaw) dysfunction, as well as pre- and postnatal concerns. She also works with paediatric patients.
Her treatment philosophy focuses on identifying the root cause of dysfunction and empowering patients to actively participate in their recovery. Dr. Shammas is committed to a holistic, proactive approach that supports long-term mobility, reduced pain, and overall wellbeing.
