Dr Atassi earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Damascus University, Syria, in 1991. He is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the British Medical Association (BMA), and the British Shoulder & Elbow Society (BESS).
Fluent in both Arabic and English, Dr Atassi specialises in treating shoulder, elbow, and upper limb conditions, including sports injuries, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, arthritis, and trauma. He is skilled in both arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery and open shoulder surgery, with additional expertise in peripheral nerve decompressions, joint replacements, and treating tennis and golfer's elbow. His dedication to providing advanced, patient-centred care has made him a respected figure in orthopaedics.
