In her current post, Dr Almahmeed performs a number of oncoplastic breast procedures, including: benign breast lump removal, breast cancer lumpectomy, mastectomy with breast reconstruction and aesthetic breast conservation. She also provides bariatric services, particularly laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy which is an excellent alternative for those at risk of suffering complications from gastric bypass surgery or going under anaesthesia.
Dr Almahmeed completed her medical degree at Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain in 1990 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2000. After qualifying, she completed a number of fellowships across the United States in a number of centres of excellence, including St John Hospital in Michigan and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
She is a American Board-Certified Surgeon and holds professional memberships with the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Association of Cancer Research and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
