Dr Taffy Makaya is a Senior Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and Clinical Lead for Paediatric and Transition Endocrinology at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. She also practises at Nuffield Health Oxford Hospital. She trained in paediatrics and endocrinology at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, where she developed specialist expertise in managing complex endocrine disorders in children and adolescents.
Her clinical interests cover a wide range of conditions, including early and delayed puberty, tall and short stature, adrenal disorders, thyroid disease, polycystic ovary syndrome, vitamin D deficiency, osteopenia, Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, and type 2 diabetes. Alongside her clinical work, Dr Makaya contributes extensively to teaching and research. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and a member of the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) and the European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE).
