About Sumitra Patel
Sumitra Patel is an experienced integrative psychotherapist and counsellor supporting individuals through a range of emotional and psychological challenges. At Nightingale Hospital, she leads the Day Therapy Programme, providing structured group support to patients, including those attending the OCD pathway. She draws on multiple therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT, IPT, psychodynamic and person-centred therapy, adapting each session to the unique needs of the individual. Her work is rooted in the belief that therapy should be flexible and collaborative, offering space for self-awareness and emotional growth. Sumitra has worked across NHS and private mental health settings, including forensic services, eating disorder units, personality disorder services, rehabilitation for psychosis, and general outpatient psychiatry.
