About
Following his fellowship training as a Clinical Fellow in Colon & Rectal Surgery at The Academic Surgical Unit, Castle Hill Hospital, Hull, UK, from 2003 to 2005, Dr. Pillinger became one of the premier Colon & Rectal Surgeons in Australia. He specialises in minimally invasive Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery, Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM), diagnostic and interventional colonoscopy, and minimally invasive Hernia Surgery and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.
Dr. Pillinger is recognised as one of the busiest robotic colorectal surgeons in Australia and has received training in robotic surgery in the US and South Korea. He is a member of the Colorectal Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) and the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgeons Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Beyond his surgical practice, Dr. Pillinger is actively involved in research, focusing on areas such as Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery, Robotic and Laparoscopic Colon and Rectal Surgery, Diathermy Smoke and Surgical Safety, and Minimally Invasive Hernia Surgery.
