About Dr Shazia Marikar
Dr. Shazia Markir is a Consultant Paediatric Emergency Medicine Physician with years of experience in the treatment and management of acute medical conditions and sees patients at the KidsDocOnCall. Dr. Markir achieved her primary medical qualification at the University of Queensland after which, she completed her basic and specialist paediatric training. Upon completion of her paediatric fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, she was appointed Consultant at The Northern Hospital and also the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. From her experience at the emergency department of these hospitals, Dr. Markir has come to understand the level of stress families go through when their child is unwell, due to struggles in accessing support and good healthcare. From this, she has centred her practice around delivering a high standard of care, accessible to all families.
