She completed her medical degree at the University of Dundee in 2006 and underwent her specialist training in dermatology at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Dr Belmo has gained significant experience in managing a range of dermatological conditions and performing skin surgery, making her a proficient general dermatologist who can treat all skin types with confidence. Dr Belmo has undergone additional training in ethnic skin and hair in Paris and the US, and is the founder and clinical lead of the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology Skin of Colour Resource. She is also the medical advisor to the Scarring Alopecia Foundation UK CCCA support group. Located on London's Harley Street, Dr Sharon Belmo runs UK's only private dermatology clinic that specialises in skin of colour, Black skin and Afro-textured hair loss. As a testament to her expertise, Dr Belmo wrote the first dermatology for skin of colour syllabus for the UK dermatology specialist training curriculum in 2021 setting a precedence for all future dermatologists' training and experience in treating darker skin tones. She has presented at national and international conferences, regularly lectures, and publishes work pertaining to skin of colour in medical journals. She also runs inMYskin, an image bank that aims to increase representation of skin of colour in medical resources. With over 15 years of experience in the NHS, Dr Belmo now runs her own private dermatology clinic on Harley street, offering a comprehensive range of treatments for all skin and hair types.
