Dr Shannon Jane Withers is an Australian-trained Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. Dr Withers studied medicine at the University of Tasmania, graduating with Honours. They completed surgical training in Victoria and undertook further fellowship training in Ear and Skullbase Surgery, including cochlear implant surgery.
Dr Withers has previously worked at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. They also hold a teaching appointment at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Dr Withers teaches medical students, junior doctors and surgical trainees. They are also a teacher for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons training courses. Dr Withers treats both adult and paediatric patients.
Their areas of interest include perforations of the eardrum, cholesteatoma surgery, cochlear implant surgery, implantable hearing aids and stapedectomy. Dr Withers is also experienced in general and paediatric ENT.
