Dr. Serge Engamba is a Consultant General Practitioner, Clinical Research Fellow, and nationally recognised leader in academic primary care and clinical research within the UK. Alongside his clinical work as a GP in Norwich, he holds several leadership and research roles focused on improving continuity of care, strengthening primary care research, and advancing evidence-based practice across the NHS.

Dr. Engamba currently serves as a General Practice Commercial Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, supported through the NIHR School for Primary Care Research national fellowship programme. He also contributes as an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, supporting the QUERCC Trial, which investigates relational continuity of care in general practice.

An experienced academic clinician, Dr. Engamba has held multiple research and leadership positions with organisations including the National Institute for Health and Care Research, University of East Anglia, and the Society for Academic Primary Care. He currently serves on the National Council for the Royal College of General Practitioners (East Anglia Faculty) and is a National Executive Committee Member for SAPC.

His professional interests centre around continuity of care, healthcare systems improvement, epidemiology, clinical trials, and strengthening research capacity in primary care. As Co-Chair of the Primary care Academic CollaboraTive (PACT), he helps mentor and support early- and mid-career academic clinicians across the UK.

Dr. Engamba has extensive NHS experience spanning clinical general practice, academic fellowships, healthcare research delivery, and leadership within primary care networks. He has also played a key role in regional and national audit, quality improvement, and clinical research initiatives, including serving as Deputy Specialty Lead for Primary Care with the NIHR Clinical Research Network East of England.
