About Dr Samir Matloob
Mr. Samir Matloob is a consultant neurosurgeon at Oxford University Hospitals Trust and The Manor Hospital, with a subspecialty focus on neurovascular and skull base neurosurgery. Renowned for his expertise, Mr. Matloob has one of the busiest neurovascular practices in the UK and is co-director of the Oxford Neurovascular Fellowship. He earned his medical qualifications and neurosurgical training in London, ranking first nationally upon entering neurosurgical training. During his early career, he was awarded the prestigious Junior Barrow Travel Fellowship and trained at leading institutions including Imperial College London, University College London Hospitals (UCLH), Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Barts Health. Following this, he completed advanced fellowships in skull base surgery and vascular neurosurgery in Cambridge before being appointed directly to a substantive consultant post in Oxford. In addition to his neurovascular expertise, Mr. Matloob is a key member of the Oxford skull base team. His practice encompasses the management of brain tumours, facial pain, hemifacial spasm, spinal pathologies, and peripheral nerve entrapment conditions. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. A dedicated educator, Mr. Matloob serves as the director of the Oxford Junior Clinical Fellow Program in Neurosurgery. His passion for advancing the field extends to publishing research in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to book chapters, and presenting at national and international conferences.
