Samantha Tipples is an experienced therapist specialising in the treatment of addiction, trauma, and related mental health conditions. At Nightingale Hospital, she works with patients experiencing alcohol and drug addiction, sex and love addiction, behavioural addictions, dual diagnosis, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, panic attacks, stress, suicidal thoughts, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and mood disorders.
She takes an integrative approach, drawing on a range of evidence-based methods including counselling, EMDR, interpersonal therapy (IPT), family therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), psychodrama, and addiction-specific interventions. Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, ensuring that therapy is delivered in a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
Samantha has experience delivering residential treatment programmes in psychiatric hospitals and outpatient support in charitable organisations. Her work has included supporting a broad range of individuals, including people from the LGBTQ+ community, those with forensic backgrounds, and people experiencing homelessness. She places emphasis on working collaboratively with each person to explore underlying issues, helping them to move forward and develop the inner resources needed to sustain recovery and well-being.
She holds an Addictions Counselling FdSc from the University of Bath and Action on Addiction, accredited by FDAP. She is an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner (Levels 1–4), holds an ISAT Diploma in Sex Addiction, and is a member of COSRT and ATSAC. Additional training includes experiential and psychodrama methods from Onsite in Tennessee, HeartMath coach certification, and foundational teacher training in MBCT from the University of Oxford Mindfulness Centre. Samantha is currently completing an MSc in EMDR Therapy at Worcester University and continues professional development in integrative psychosexual therapy, systemic family work, and GSRD therapy.
