Ihre Expertise teilte sie auch als Autorin für die Zeitschrift "National Geographic" in einer Beitragsserie über den menschlichen Intelligenzquotienten. Obwohl ihr Weg zunächst in Richtung Forschung wies, entdeckte Frau Coulson ihre wahre Berufung in der direkten Arbeit mit Menschen.
