Mr
Mr Rohit Jolly
Ophthalmology
About
Mr Jolly graduated from the University College London with a degree in medicine and a first class honours in neuroscience for which he achieved the Deans list prize for recognition of his outstanding achievement. He undertook his Ophthalmic training within the North Thames London Deanery, rotating through many different hospitals including the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, acquiring a breadth of experience from leading clinicians within their fields.
He has furthered his extensive experience by undertaking a Fellowship at the Royal Free in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Adult Strabismus and Cataract surgery, learning the modern techniques of squint surgery as well as its medical management. In addition to this he has a keen interest in acute ophthalmic care and has held the position of a Consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital in the busiest dedicated ophthalmic eye casualty in Europe.
Mr Jolly has always been passionate about teaching and training and is a College Tutor at the Roysal Free, heavily involved in the education of junior ophthalmic surgeons as well as expanding the role of general medical physicians and optometrists in the management of ophthalmic complaints. He has been involved in setting up a number of teaching programmes to help equip professionals with the highest level of understanding and confidence, to provide patients with the best care possible.
The approach to patient care has to be specifically tailored to each individual, whether a child or adult, and involve them along this journey and decision making process. This principle is something Mr Jolly firmly believes in and his compassionate, calm and competent approach is something that puts him in a position where patients have continued to place trust in him.
When not at work Mr Jolly enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, practicing yoga and playing cricket.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
