He was later awarded FICO by the International Council of Ophthalmology and FRCS by the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow.
Dr Videkar’s clinical expertise covers the management of vitreoretinal conditions including retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, macular disease, and retinopathy of prematurity. He has extensive surgical experience in vitrectomy, phacoemulsification, secondary intraocular lens implantation, ocular trauma, glaucoma procedures, and oculoplastic surgery. He is also proficient in advanced imaging and laser techniques including OCT, FA, ICG, PASCAL, and intravitreal therapies.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Videkar has an active academic and research background. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals on retinal detachment, vitrectomy techniques and retinal imaging, and has presented research papers, posters and surgical videos at major international meetings including EURETINA, ASRS and APAO. He also contributes to medical education and has been recognised for his role as a frontline clinician during the COVID-19 pandemic.
