Ms. Richa Deshmukh is an experienced Occupational Therapist with over four years of dedicated practice. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from D.Y. Patil University in Navi Mumbai, India, in 2018. Following her graduation, Richa began her career at the Institute for Psychological Health, where she initially worked as an Occupational Therapist. In September 2018, she pursued a postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy with a specialisation in Developmental Disabilities from Seth GSMC & KEMH, Mumbai. Throughout her postgraduate studies, she continued her role at the Institute for Psychological Health on a part-time basis, completing her Master’s degree in 2021.
Richa has worked with a diverse range of patients, including newborns in NICU settings, toddlers, school-aged children, and adolescents up to 16 years old. Her expertise covers a range of challenges, including sensory, cognitive, academic, play, socialisation difficulties, and issues with daily living activities. She has substantial experience working with children facing developmental delays, Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Sensory Processing Disorders, and motor impairments.
In 2020, Richa took on the role of coordinator for a support group for parents of children with Autism at the Institute for Psychological Health. She is certified in the Astronaut Training protocol®, which addresses vestibular, visual, and auditory dysfunctions. Additionally, she holds certifications in Physical Agent Modalities and Office Ergonomics from the All-India Occupational Therapists’ Association and is trained in shoulder strengthening and rehabilitation. Her commitment to continuous learning is reflected in her training in Neurodevelopmental Care in the NICU and her use of the Bayley’s Scale for Infant Development from Pearson’s Academy.
Richa is passionate about supporting children with developmental delays and their families, with a primary goal of helping each child reach their full potential.
