During his higher surgical training, he developed a subspecialty interest in spinal surgery.

Following completion of CCT, Mr Chekuri undertook two further specialist spinal fellowships. He completed a Complex Spine Fellowship at The Royal London Hospital and the prestigious Adult and Paediatric Spinal Deformity Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. He is trained in degenerative lumbar and cervical spine surgery, spinal deformity and scoliosis surgery, spinal navigation techniques, and lateral access lumbar surgery, with a particular interest in minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery.

He practises in both NHS and private healthcare settings. His NHS practice is based at The Royal London Hospital, where he also holds the role of Clinical Governance Lead for Complex Spine Surgery. His practice here is exclusively focused on spinal surgery, managing both routine and complex spinal conditions in both adults and children.

Mr Chekuri provides comprehensive care encompassing both non-operative and operative management with a MDT approach, strong emphasis on patient safety, clear communication, and shared decision-making.
