Dr Rashid Bashir is a Consultant Cardiologist with almost 30 years of experience. He is based in Melbourne and currently sees patients at Western Health, Western Private Hospital, Epworth Hospital Richmond, The Valley Private Hospital and HeartWest Essendon, St Albans, Hoppers Crossing and Sunbury.Dr Bashir completed his medical degree at the University of Punjab, Pakistan in 1987 followed by his initial general medicine and cardiology training at the POFs Hospital and Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology in Pakistan. He became a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan in 1995 and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK in 1998. Dr Bashir moved to Australia in 1999 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners in 2004 and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2010.Dr Bashir's clinical practice involves consultations for general cardiology symptoms and conditions, including: palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath, syncope, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, heart valve problems and heart failure. He regularly reports transthoracic echocardiograms, performs and reports stress echocardiograms, transoesophageal echocardiograms and coronary angiograms. Dr Bashir also has vast expertise in diagnosing and treating general internal medicine conditions.
