About Mr Peter Michael Mota
Mr Mike Mota is a highly regarded Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon with extensive expertise in aesthetic eyelid surgery and the management of complex eye and facial conditions. His specialisms include ptosis surgery, thyroid eye disease, watery eyes, eyelid malpositions, dry eye, blepharitis, facial palsy, eyelid skin cancer reconstruction, and facial dystonias such as blepharospasm. After qualifying in Medicine from the University of Southampton and earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurosciences from University College London, Mr Mota trained in Ophthalmology and advanced Oculoplastic surgery at Oxford. He further refined his skills during a Fellowship in Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery at Leicester before being appointed as a Consultant at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Trust (EKHUFT) in 2017. Mr Mota has been a clinical supervisor for ophthalmology trainees and regularly teaches GPs and optometrists about urgent eye conditions. He has also led specialised clinics in collaboration with colleagues from Maxillofacial Surgery and ENT, providing comprehensive care for complex facial and ocular issues. He is an active contributor to his field, as Mr Mota has published and presented internationally and is a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS). His compassionate approach ensures excellent care for every patient.
