Dr. med. Univ. Oliver Kandel ist ein renommierter Hautarzt und Dermatologe. Seine Leidenschaft für die Medizin wurde bereits in jungen Jahren geweckt, da sein Vater als praktischer Arzt tätig war. Dies führte dazu, dass Dr. med. Univ. Kandel nach seinem Schulabschluss Medizin an der Universität Wien studierte.
Nach seinem Medizinstudium und dem Präsenzdienst, den er teilweise im Heeresspital absolvierte, sammelte Dr. med. Univ. Kandel wertvolle Erfahrungen in verschiedenen Wiener Spitälern. Unter anderem war er im Evangelischen Krankenhaus (Abteilung Innere Medizin), im Sankt Elisabeth Spital (Abteilung Chirurgie und innere Medizin) und im AKH Wien (Chirurgie und Transplantkoordination) tätig. Seine allgemeine medizinische Ausbildung schloss er im Wiener Wilhelminen Spital ab.
Anschließend spezialisierte sich Dr. med. Univ. Kandel auf Haut- und Geschlechtskrankheiten und absolvierte eine zusätzliche Fachausbildung im Bereich der Angiologie (Gefäßerkrankungen). Während seiner medizinischen Ausbildung legte er einen starken Fokus auf die chirurgischen Aspekte und schloss sogar zwei Jahre der chirurgischen Fachausbildung ab.
Neben seiner klinischen Tätigkeit engagierte sich Dr. med. Univ. Kandel regelmäßig in Forschungsprojekten, insbesondere auf dem Gebiet der plastischen Chirurgie, was ihm zahlreiche Co-Autorschaften einbrachte. Durch zahlreiche Fortbildungen im dermatologisch-ästhetischen Bereich entwickelte er sich zu einem anerkannten Experten auf diesem Gebiet und leitete Workshops, um andere Ärzt:innen im Umgang mit Botox und Hyaluronsäure-Filler auszubilden.
