Dr. Nikil Sudarsan is a highly skilled and UK board-certified Consultant in Paediatrics, specialising in Paediatric Neurology. With extensive experience in his field, Dr. Nikil has a particular interest in managing acute and chronic general paediatric conditions as well as various neurological disorders such as epilepsy, headaches, movement disorders, and Neuro-disability.
Prior to joining King's, Dr. Nikil served as a Consultant Paediatrician and Neurology lead at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital Brighton, UK, from 2015 to 2022. Additionally, he held the role of Paediatric lead for genomics at the NHS Southeast Genomic Medicine Service Alliance, where he played a pivotal role in integrating genomic testing into routine clinical practice in South East England.
Dr. Nikil is actively involved in medical education and is a member, trainer, and course director for the Paediatric Epilepsy Training course organised by the British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA). He is dedicated to advancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in this specialised area.
Dr. Nikil's educational background includes an MBBS from Calicut Medical College, India, and completion of a prestigious paediatric training program in Birmingham, UK. He is a proud holder of MRCPCH from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and CCT in Paediatrics from the General Medical Council, UK. In 2021, he achieved FRCPCH recognition. He has also obtained a post-graduate certificate in medical education (PGCE) from Warwick University, UK, reflecting his commitment to medical teaching and training. Dr. Nikil's research and findings have been published in renowned international journals, including Archives of Diseases in Childhood.
Dr. Nikil's special interests encompass a wide range of areas within paediatrics, including acute and chronic general paediatrics, paediatric epilepsy, paediatric headache disorders, Tourette Syndrome, tic disorders, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Conditions, ADHD, and Cerebral Palsy. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to his patients and their families.
