Dr Garibotto is a highly trained expert in the management of all benign and malignant breast conditions with a specific interest in oncoplastic and implant-based breast reconstruction. She is the ONLY breast surgeon at St George public who performs both the cancer resection aswell as the reconstruction thereby assuring complete continuity of care leading to superior treatment outcomes. Dr Garibotto appreciates the concern and distress that understandably accompanies these conditions and is renowned for her compassion and empathy for both her patients and their families.
Completing three years of specialised post-fellowship training, Dr Garibotto also has extensive experience in the surgical management of disease affecting the thyroid, parathyroid and salivary glands. In addition to her specialised field of surgery, she is also happy to manage general surgical conditions including both laparoscopic and open techniques including abdominal wall hernias, gallbladders and simple skin lesions and lipomas.
Dr Garibotto consults out of her rooms at St George private hospital and operates at St George Public AND Private hospitals. She also consults in Miranda. Urgent cases are welcome and will be prioritised and seen with in one week. Dr Garibotto is a fluent Spanish speaker.
Dr Garibotto graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004. Her surgical training commenced internationally in the UK where she gained membership of Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. After returning to home to Australia, she completed her general surgical training attaining RACS fellowship in 2017 followed by her extensive post fellowship training in Breast and Endocrine surgery.
Recently she has also completed a Masters in Advanced Surgery at The University of Sydney and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. Dr Garibotto is a member of both BreastSurgANZ and Australian New Zealand Endocrine Society. She has been invited to speak both locally and Internationally in her areas of expertise including at the World Congress in Thyroid cancer and the Melbourne International Joint breast Congress.
She has a passion for teaching and is a Lecturer at UNSW Clinical school of medicine where she enjoys mentoring and developing models for surgical education.
