About
Nancy has gained extensive experience in various roles, including child and adolescent psychotherapist, adult psychotherapist, case manager, social worker, and manager in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Adult and Older Persons Mental Health services, both in the United States and the UK. She has also served as a Clinical Operational Manager in Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) for Adults in Bristol, and has held several management positions in social care, focusing on mental health training.
Nancy is well-versed in legislation related to the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and safeguarding for children and adults. Her therapeutic skills include Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative and Play Therapy, EMDR, CBT, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Trauma and Attachment work, and Systemic Family Therapy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Work from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver, Colorado. Her master’s studies focused on psychology in social work and included an internship in educational psychology, where she conducted assessments related to communicative disorders and special educational needs.
Nancy began her psychotherapy career providing services in community and psychiatric hospitals in Seattle, WA, USA. She secured her LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) licensure in Washington State, allowing her to authorise psychiatric holds and diagnose clinical conditions in Emergency Departments across Seattle.
After relocating to the UK, Nancy continued her private psychotherapy practice and completed additional training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for trauma. She remains committed to professional development, regularly attending advanced training in EMDR, solution-focused therapy, and spirituality in EMDR.
