About

Mr Tim Hookway is a renowned Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Plymouth with a subspecialty in laparoscopy ('key-hole' surgery). Working for the NHS at Plymouth Hospital and privately at Nuffield Health, Mr Hookway helps women suffering from a variety of conditions such as pelvic pain, endometriosis, menstrual disorders, fibroids, abnormal and painful bleeding. He offers a personalised approach, tailoring all his advice and treatments to individuals needs and wishes. He is skilled in complex laparoscopy, a less invasive approach with faster recovery and less post-operative pain.

He has established a nationally accredited Specialist Centre for treatment of advanced Endometriosis.

He began his career at the prestigious Imperial College London, graduated with a Medical Degree in 2007 before completing an extensive training scheme in his chosen field. He became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2013 and completed additional training in Advanced Laparoscopy for the Excision of Benign Disease and is an Accredited Colposcopist. He is a professional member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy and the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.

In his free time, he enjoys rugby, cycling, cooking and photography.
