Mr. Sean Mortimore is an ENT and Head and Neck Surgeon with many years of experience in General ENT and Head and Neck surgery for cancerous and benign growths, Transoral Robotic and Laser Surgery, and microsurgery. He sees private patients at the Nuffield Health Derby Hospital, and Derby Private Health, where he works alongside his NHS practice at the Royal Derby Hospital.

Mr. Mortimore earned his primary medical qualification at the University of Cape Town in 1987, after which he undertook his basic and advanced specialist ear, nose, and throat training at the Groote Schuur Hospital also in Cape Town. He later went to Liverpool, UK, where he undertook and completed further advanced ENT training; further broadening his skillset and scope of practice.

Upon completion of his training, Mr. Mortimore was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Derby Hospital. Since his appointment in 1999, Mr. Mortimore has been held multiple leadership positions including Associate Clinical Sub Dean; Director of Postgraduate Education, Clinical Director for ENT Surgery, and the title of Honorary Associate Professor.

He is also an active member of the medical education community and regularly partakes in the training of undergraduate students, junior doctors, ENT specialty training doctors and ENT specialist Fellows.

In addition to his other accolades he is also involved in clinical research and is a principal investigator in Derby for two national clinical head and neck trials.
