Mr Sanjay Miranda is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over two decades of experience in Hand, Upper Limb and peripheral nerve surgery. He sees private patients at the CircleHealth Woodlands Hospital, Ramsay Tees Valey Hospital and the Nuffield Health Tees Hospital.
Upon completion of his primary medical qualification at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Medical School in 1993, Mr Miranda undertook his specialist Orthopaedic training in Birmingham, Coventry, Derby and Nottingham. He was later awarded a prestigious Hand Surgery fellowship in the Pulvertaft Hand Surgery Centre, Derby. He spent a further year felowship training in Sydney with North Sydney Sports Medicine Centre and with Prof Tonkin at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Upon completion of his training, Mr Miranda was appointed Consultant at James Cook University Hospital, a Major Trauma Centre. After 14 years there he moved to North Tees & Hartlepool trust to help build their current hand trauma service. In his practice Sanjay Miranda treats over 90 patients per week, including professional musicians and athletes. Mr Miranda regularly gives talks on orthopaedic surgery at national and international conferences and is also a keen advocate for medical education.
