Mr Radu Popa
About
Mr Popa has honed his surgical skills through collaborations with several highly esteemed spinal surgeons in the UK, acquiring extensive experience in performing minimally invasive spinal operations, including both posterior and anterior lumbar spinal fusions and decompressions. His constant aim is to preserve spinal musculature and facilitate rapid rehabilitation for his patients.
Mr Popa completed his medical degree at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Romania in 2000. He later relocated to the UK and completed specialist orthopaedic training, including spinal surgery training. This training consisted of a complex spinal surgery fellowship at Oxford University Hospitals in 2013, a spinal surgery fellowship at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2014 and another complex spinal surgery fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore in 2015. Mr Popa also gained experience at the Trauma and Orthopaedic Hospital of Foisor, a prominent orthopaedic centre in the heart of Bucharest.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Popa holds professional memberships with the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, the European Spinal Society and the British Scoliosis Society.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
