About Mr Pierre Nasr
About Mr Nasr's practice, training and experience • Mr Pierre Nasr is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon specialising in all aspects of hip and knee surgery, including hip and knee replacements and keyhole knee surgery. • Mr Nasr also carries out complex revision hip (redo) surgery and deals with patients having problems with their hip or knee replacements • He works at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust and Circle Three Shires Hospital in Northampton. • He was born and raised in Buckinghamshire and attended the Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe. He obtained his medical qualification from Imperial College School of Medicine at St. Mary's Hospital, London in 2002. Oxford and Cambridge training programmes • Mr Nasr started his trainIng at the Oxford University Hospitals Teaching hospitals and had specialist training in Orthopaedics at Cambridge University Teaching Hospitals, which culminated in the prestigious and distinguished appointment of Chief Resident for Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2012. Specialist fellowship training in Australia • He underwent further specialist training at world-famous centres of excellence in Australia in 2013-2015. • He became proficient in routine and complex hip and knee surgery, as well as reconstructing complex limb fractures and severe fractures of the pelvis and hip socket at the award winning Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. • Mr Nasr then moved to Perth, Western Australia, working at the Western Australia Sarcoma Service based at Sir Charles Gairdiner Hospital. This training was in the treatment of complex hip and knee joint replacement related to bone tumours as well as computer navigated hip and knee surgery, under the supervision of 2 world renowned Professors in Orthopaedic Oncology. NHS Consultant • Mr Nasr returned to the UK to become a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Northampton General Hospital in 2015, where he is head of the trauma service and partakes in all aspects of hip and knee replacement surgery Excellent outcomes • Mr Nasr persues an enhanced recovery programme for all hip and knee replacment patients, ensuring patients recover and mobilise quickly with as little discomfort as possible • Mr Nasr is achieving excellent results and outcomes as evidenced in the National Joint Registry Surgeon Profile - NJR Surgeon and Hospital Profile Collaborative working • Mr Nasr contributes regularly to the Hip and Knee revision network for the East Midlands South Specialist Orthopaedic Network (EMSSON) and works within a multidisciplinary team for hip revision and hip resurfacing procedures. He has close links with the East Midlands Sarcoma network.
