About Mr Philip Mitchell
Mr Phillip Mitchell is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Surrey, UK. He graduated from the University of London in 1991, and went on to complete his registrar training at St George's Hospital. He spent a year in Vancouver on one of the most prestigious joint reconstruction fellowships available worldwide, during which he authored multiple academic lectures for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and published several papers about revision surgery. He has a special interest in lower limb joint replacement and, whilst training prior to his fellowship, he established and co-ordinated what has become the biggest international database of revision hips procedures using a Hydroxyapatite coated implant. This work has resulted in international recognition and invitations to speak at many conferences in North America and New Zealand. In his spare time, he is a keen sportsman with a particular interest in cricket, rugby, skiing, and mountain biking.
