About
Mr Flowers qualified at St Mary's Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1987. He then undertook his specialist trianing in London (RNOH), the West Midlands and South Yorkshire, followed by a fellowship in paediatric orthopaedic and trauma surgery in Canada at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto in 1997.
After being appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1997, Mr Flowers also subspecialised in paediatric orthopaedics, particularly in hip dysplasia, talipes, neuromuscular disease and sport-related conditions. My adult orthopaedic interest is in the foot and ankle and covers the breadth of this subspeciality including minimally invasive surgery, ankle arthroscopy and surgery for ankle instability.
Mr Flowers is also involved in teaching and is currently the honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Sheffield and a reviewer for peer-reviewed foot and ankle journals. He is a member of the British Foot and Ankle Society and the British Society for Children's Orthopaedic Surgery. He has served in the latter as a Board member since 2006, as Honorary Secretary and currently as President-Elect.
