Mr Barnes is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon whose main interests are trauma, lower limb joint replacement and revision of failed/worn hip replacements. He has previously worked at Massachusetts General Hospital and has extensive experience. He specialises in Hip and Knee surgery. He has been Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics and Deputy Director of Surgery at Macclesfield Hospital and is the longest serving Orthopaedic Surgeon in EaHe sees patients with general adult and paediatric orthopaedic conditions including soft tissue injuries and fractures. He has extensive experience in performing hip and knee replacement surgery and performs twice as many operations a year than the average hip and knee surgeon (see national joint registry figures). The hospital where Mr Barnes operates has recently been highlighted as one the best hospitals in the UK for hip replacements according to the College of Surgeons Patient Reported Outcomes.
