Mr Atif Alvi is a leading Consultant General Surgeon specialising in Colorectal and Laparoscopic procedures with HCA Healthcare at the renowned Princess Grace Hospital. Additionally, he holds an NHS post at West Hertfordshire Hospital. He performs routine laparoscopic cholecystectomy, pilonidal surgery and hernia repairs and has a wide range of experience in dealing with colorectal cancers. Throughout his career, he has performed more than 400 open and 600 laparoscopic colorectal operations with good surgical and oncological outcomes compared to national standards. The talented surgeon has performed approximately 95% of his bowel cancer cases.
After qualifying with a Medical Degree Mr Alif completed his higher surgical training in Cambridge and London. He was awarded a certificate of completion of training (CCT) in September 2010 after working in various specialities of surgery. During his training, he completed a Fellowship in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery was appointed a consultant post in 2011. He has worked across numerous centres of excellence including St. Marks Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital, gaining invaluable experience in advanced colorectal cancers, revision surgery and pelvic exenteration surgery.
