Mr Andrew Cole is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon specialising in shoulder surgery and Senior Consultant Shoulder Surgeon at University Hospitals Southampton. Mr Cole completed his undergraduate training in London and his general surgical training in Bristol. He specialised in Orthopaedics in Oxford, during which time he undertook fellowships in shoulder surgery in Oxford and orthopaedic trauma and post-trauma reconstruction in Canada. Mr Cole is past vice chairman of the Specialist Advisory Committee for National Training and he was involved in developing the system used for selection of higher trainees. Mr Cole is an examiner for the Intercollegiate Board of the Royal College of Surgeons at FRCS. Mr Cole also has a keen interest in research, and he has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals and chapters in several books including The Oxford Textbook of Orthopaedics and Trauma, Medicolegal Reporting in Orthopaedic Trauma, and Apley''s System of Orthopaedics and Trauma.
