About Dr Matthew Green
Dr Matthew Green is a highly skilled Queensland-trained ophthalmologist who has recently completed subspecialty training in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. With a strong foundation in optometry, having originally qualified at Queensland University of Technology, Dr Green later completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland. He went on to complete residency and surgical training at Gold Coast Hospital, before refining his skills in public hospitals across Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Lismore. Dr Green specialises in cataract surgery, corneal graft surgery, pterygium surgery, and treatments for keratoconus, including collagen cross-linking and EXCIMER laser refractive surgery. He also provides advanced glaucoma care. His research interests focus on microbial keratitis, for which he has earned a Masters of Science from the University of New South Wales and an Australian Research Award. Dr Green has published extensively in international journals and is a regular presenter at global conferences. A passionate advocate for international medical aid, Dr Green has volunteered his surgical skills on missions to Nepal, Burma, and Fiji, and continues to contribute to the global fight against preventable eye diseases.
