About Dr Mark Jarvis
Dr. Mark Jarvis is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, specialising in general gastroenterology and endoscopy. He studied at Magdalen College, Oxford, and Imperial College London, before advancing his career as a senior substantive Gastroenterologist and Physician at Basildon Hospital, where he has over 12 years of consultant experience. Dr. Jarvis has particular expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and nutrition. He previously served as Clinical Director of Endoscopy at Basildon Hospital and is currently the endoscopy training lead at this major teaching hospital. Additionally, he holds the position of Accreditation Chair for the Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (JAG), where he regularly leads inspections of UK endoscopy departments in both public and private sectors while overseeing the accreditation process in the UK and internationally.
