Prof Marie Scully
Haematology
About
Her clinical practice focuses on acquired haemostasis and platelet disorders, with a specialist interest in Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). She leads dedicated clinics for ITP and Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP), while also working within obstetric haematology to support patients with both inherited and acquired bleeding and thrombotic disorders.
Professor Scully obtained her MB BS from the University of London in 1993. Alongside her clinical work, she is actively engaged in research, with interests spanning TTP, Atypical Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome, and ITP. Her research and clinical contributions aim to improve diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes in patients with complex haematological conditions.
Her areas of expertise include haemophilia and acquired bleeding disorders, blood cancers and related haematological conditions, and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. Through her dual roles in clinical practice and research, she continues to advance patient care and knowledge in the field of haematology.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
