About

Mana Kosugi is a registered psychologist at Mindspace Consulting, offering face-to-face appointments in Melbourne CBD and Boronia, as well as sessions via telehealth. She supports individuals across the lifespan and is known for her warm, culturally responsive, and person-centred approach. Mana is passionate about helping clients navigate life’s complexities with clinical insight and compassion.

She works with a wide range of presentations including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, and emotional regulation challenges. She also supports individuals facing identity exploration, low self-esteem, eating disorders, sleep difficulties, and adjustment to chronic illness. Mana has a particular interest in working with international students, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, and individuals navigating intergenerational and cross-cultural dynamics. Her therapeutic work is informed by her own lived experiences across Japan, Spain, and Australia.

Mana’s clinical background includes experience in public hospitals, private practice, and community settings in Australia, as well as crisis support work with Lifeline Japan. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in paediatric and inpatient settings, and understands the pressures of academic performance, career transitions, and high-achieving environments.

She integrates a range of evidence-based modalities into her work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based approaches, and Single Session Therapy (SST). Her approach is always tailored to the individual, ensuring therapy is both relevant and meaningful.

In addition to her clinical work, Mana has contributed to research at the University of Melbourne’s Contemplative Studies Centre, where she examined the therapeutic application and adaptation of mindfulness-based interventions.

Mana speaks English and Japanese and is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”

— Mana Kosugi
