About

Mr Kiran Singisetti is a lower limb orthopaedic surgeon based at Nuffield Health Newcastle upon Tyne Hospital and Spire Washington Hospital. His clinical practice focuses on primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He also treats soft tissue knee disorders, such as meniscal and ACL injuries. He is passionate about trauma care and undertakes a variety of trauma-related surgeries, including complex periarticular and periprosthetic fracture fixation of the lower limb.

Following his basic and advanced surgical training, Mr Singisetti went on to complete the Cavendish Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship in Sheffield, UK, and then an AO Trauma Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA. He has also undertaken a number of other fellowships including the British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship and the Charnley Latta Travelling Scholarship.

Mr Singisetti is interested in medical education and teaches on several regional, national, and international courses. He is the Surgical Tutor for the NHS Trust, supervises surgical trainees. He is an ATLS instructor, faculty member of Royal College of Surgeons courses and on the panel of examiners for the FRCS (Orthopaedics) exam.

He contributes to collaborative working in the North East, has various regional roles - Regional Surgical Ambassador for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Regional Speciality Professional Advisor for Royal Cllege of Surgeons of England. He is one of the Regional Clinical Coordinators for the National Joint Registry.

Mr Singisetti has presented work at international meetings such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Association. He has published extensively with several articles, book chapters, and co-edited a book.
