About
In 2003, Dr Kong graduated from the University of New South Wales Medical School before completing advanced general surgical training, including a Master of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney. He began specialist ENT surgery training in 2007 and was later admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology.
Following this, Dr Kong completed additional sub-specialty training in advanced endoscopic sinus surgery and anterior skull base surgery at a number of renowned London hospitals including the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. During this time, he was able to train at one of the largest endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery centres in the UK and Europe, under the guidance of Dr David Roberts and Dr Claire Hopkins. Dr Kong also spent time as a lecturer at the Kings College London School of Medicine whilst he was in London.
Dr Kong is widely published and has presented his work at conferences around the world. He is also involved in the training of medical students and registrars and is an Honorary Associate at the University of Sydney.
Away from work, Dr Kong spends his free time with his wife, playing the violin, fishing, and skiing.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
— Dr Justin Kong
