Dr Julia Phillips is an experienced consultant paediatrician with an experience across the full range of paediatric conditions and has a specialist interests in paediatric diabetes.

Dr Phillips has almost 20 years of paediatric experience in the NHS and has 10 years of experience as a consultant. Dr. Phillips has held senior leadership roles including Deputy Clinical Director for Child Health at King’s College Hospital and Clinical Lead for the Paediatric Team at the Princess Royal University Hospital site. Her private practice is based at Grosvenor Gardens Healthcare.

Dr. Phillips qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2004. Following her foundation training, she began her specialty training on the specialist paediatric training programme in 2006. She trained at a range of hospitals including The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, Kings’ College Hospital London and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. She gained extensive training in general paediatrics, paediatric intensive care, neonatology, paediatric endocrinology and diabetes, oncology and nephrology.

In addition to her everyday clinical work, Dr. Phillips also has a passion for transforming services across organisations; she works with commissioning groups to develop award winning, integrated paediatric nursing and paediatric primary care services. She is also interested in medical education and training and has won awards for leadership in education. As part of her role in education, she is a clinical supervisor for paediatricians in training, an appraiser for consultant paediatricians and an instructor for advanced paediatric life support.

Dr. Phillips has a wide range of clinical expertise including acute, chronic and rare disorders in childhood, as well as abdominal pain, gastro-oesophageal reflux, cough, asthma, urinary infections, enuresis, headaches, and disorders of development, puberty and growth. In her NHS role Julia also provides specialist clinics in paediatric diabetes including insulin pump therapy.
