Dr Intazar Bashir is a distinguished Consultant Anaesthesiologist with a prominent presence in esteemed healthcare institutions, including Sussex Premier Health, The Montefiore Hospital, and Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital. He completed his medical degree at the University of Dundee in 1996. He later completed a Fellowship in Pain Medicine under the mentorship of luminaries such as Professor David Rowbotham, a pioneering figure as the first Dean of The Faculty of Pain Medicine, and Dr Beverly Collett, renowned in the realm of pain medicine. Dr Bashir moved to Perth, Australia, where he gained expertise in rheumatology and chronic pain. He later moved back to London and gained expertise in pain management for individuals afflicted by conditions like sickle cell disease and cancer-related ailments.

Dr Bashir completed his anaesthetic training in London and Leicester, including at the local St Barnabas Hospice. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists

Dr Bashir's proficiency spans the spectrum of chronic pain management, with a particular focus on diverse realms, such as back pain, hip/knee and shoulder pain, tendinopathy, and complex regional pain syndrome. His therapeutic approaches are both innovative and evidence-based, encompassing interventions like NICE-approved Botox treatments for migraines, cutting-edge platelet therapies for tendon issues and osteoarthritis, and the utilisation of Genicular Nerve RF for knee pain

His scholarly contributions to the field are noteworthy, including publication in the area of radio frequency denervation of the supra scapular nerve in shoulder pain. Dr Bashir's engagement with the British Pain Society has resulted in impactful paper presentations, shedding light on the application of intravenous lignocaine infusions for the management of conditions like fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain.
