He earned his medical degree from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, School of Medicine in Germany. His postgraduate training in Ophthalmology was completed at the University of Tübingen and Koblenz in Germany, where he also pursued a fellowship and subspecialty training at the University of Tübingen.
Dr. El-Araj’s areas of professional interest are extensive and include sutureless cataract surgery (phaco), laser operations for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, and retinal operations for retinal defects and detachment. He is also experienced in the medical treatment of macular degeneration, laser treatment for glaucoma, and lid reconstruction and cosmetic lid surgery. Additionally, he is skilled in refractive surgery techniques such as LASIK, Epilasik, Ultralasik, and ICL, as well as general ophthalmic diseases.
Before joining Cure, Dr. El-Araj practised at the University of Tübingen Eye Clinic and Evang Stift Hospital in Koblenz, Germany. He also served as the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Al Noor Hospital on Airport Road, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
