About Mr Ian Long
Ian Long is a Counselling Psychotherapist at Dynamic Change Consultants (DCC), registered with the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) and accredited as a CAP Peer. With a unique background combining over 40 years of experience in aviation and counselling, Ian brings a distinctive perspective to his therapeutic practice. As an integrative counsellor, Ian draws on various therapeutic approaches, including person-Centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis, Gestalt, and Psychosynthesis. His practice is rooted in fostering greater self-awareness, self-worth, and personal growth. Ian’s sessions can be conducted in-person or virtually. Ian follows an ethical, practical, and collaborative approach, creating a safe and supportive emotional environment for his clients. Using the GROW model, he helps clients identify goals, clarify their realities, explore options, and work towards meaningful outcomes. Since 2017, he has worked closely with Professor Rob Bor in the pioneering field of peer support for aviation professionals and is actively involved with the Centre for Aviation Psychology. Ian’s dedication extends to community support initiatives and sharing his insights through presentations at specialist conferences.
