About

Mr Huw Williams is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon with a broad practice spanning adult and paediatric orthopaedics, trauma, and joint replacement surgery. He graduated from Monash University in 1987 and completed his primary surgical training at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

Mr Williams undertook his specialist orthopaedic training through the Victorian/Tasmanian Program of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, completing rotations at Box Hill, PANCH, Wangaratta, Geelong, the Royal Children's and Austin Hospitals.   He undertook overseas fellowship positions, at the Orthopaedic and Arthritic Hospital in Toronto, Canada, within the Upper Extremity Service, followed by Clinical Research Fellowship in Arthroplasty at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter, England.

Since  1998 he has been in solo practice in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.  He is currently the Clinical Unit Head of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Bendigo Hospital where he is a VMO, and is appointed as a VMO also at St John of God Hospital, Bendigo.

His specialist interests include revision hip and knee arthroplasty, primary hip, knee and shoulder replacement surgery, and the management of general adult and paediatric orthopaedic conditions, injuries and trauma. He welcome all patients regardless of insurance status, Veterans Affairs, Workcover and TAC patients.  His aim is to provide comprehensive, experienced and evidence-based orthopaedic care, including diagnosis, discussion of options, surgery and non-operative care tailored to each patient’s needs.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
